How-To

DECAL APPLICATION

Below is our guide to applying your decals, stickers and visors. Follow each step carefully to ensure that your product is adhered correctly.

STEP 1.
Clean the area thoroughly with rubbing alcohol or soap and water. Do not use a glass cleaner because it will leave a residue behind that will prevent the sticker from adhering well.

STEP 2.

Rub a squeegee or credit card firmly across the sticker through the transfer tape to prepare it for application. This ensures the sticker will cling to the transfer tape and removes any air bubbles that may have formed.

STEP 3.
Peel the white paper backing off the sticker. If the sticker clings to the backing, slowly replace the paper backing and repeat Step 2.

STEP 4.
Slowly lower the sticker onto the surface and rub it in place firmly with a squeegee or credit card. For best results make sure you apply lots of pressure.

STEP 5.
Slowly peel the transfer tape off at an angle. Be careful not to pull the sticker off the surface. If sticker pulls away from the surface repeat Step 4.

STICKER APPLICATION

STEP 1.
Clean the area thoroughly with rubbing alcohol or soap and water. Do not use a glass cleaner because it will leave a residue behind that will prevent the sticker from adhering well.

STEP 2.
Remove the backing paper of the sticker slowly until it's fully removed.

STEP 3.
Bow the sticker in so that the centre of the sticker makes contact with the surface first. Place from the centre outwards. Apply pressure upon application from centre out to make sure no air bubbles form. Your sticker should now be correctly applied!

VISOR/BANNER APPLICATION

Recommended 2 Person Installation
Tools:Measuring Tape, Squeegee, Scissors, Masking Tape, and sharp cutting blade.

PREPARATION BEFORE INSTALLATION -
Before installing your sun-strip visor there are a few precautions that must be taken.
Be sure to install your visor indoors, as not to attract dust or fibres that could adhere to the strip before application. Please also make sure you wipe down and clean your windscreen with a microfibre towel and rubbing alcohol. DO NOT use glass cleaner, as it can leave behind a residue that will prevent the visor from adhering well.

Our sun-strip visors are recommended to be installed dry, as per the vinyl manufacturers specifications. We also recommend applying the sun-strip visor prior to adding further decals or graphics on top, as to allow the ability to measure and apply as accurately as possible.

It is strongly recommended to find someone to help you with this process, as it is a lot easier to apply with 2 people instead of 1.

INSTALLATION PROCESS -
Measure up on both sides of your windscreen how far down you would like your visor to go. Simply use a measuring tape to determine these lengths then mark with some masking tape. Try to use key points on your windscreen that are symmetrical on either side to get a perfect, straight application.

Once these measurements are determined, grab your sun-strip and place over your windscreen and line it up to these points that have already been measured. Use masking tape to on each side to hold the visor down, and one long piece of tape directly in the centre to use as a hinge point.

After your sun-strip is in position, peel the backing paper off one half of your visor to the hinge point you created with your tape. Cut off the backing paper for the first half and hold your visor up so it does not drop down and stick to the windscreen. Be careful not to tear the backing paper as it can leave paper particles that can get stuck under your visor. You are now ready to apply one side!

Use a felt squeegee to apply the visor from the centre hinge point outwards and apply reasonable pressure. If any air bubbles or creases form, lift the vinyl up slightly and try again. Continue to squeegee the visor down until you reach the edge of your windscreen. Be sure to squeegee up around the edges of your windscreen to ensure a good bond between the windscreen and the visor.

Repeat the same as above for the other side. Be sure to take your time with this process as it can be quite tricky.

Once your visor is now fully down on your windscreen, go over it again with your squeegee and apply lots of pressure to ensure it is adhered properly, be sure to get all the corners and edges of your windscreen.

Use a sharp craft knife or a blade to trim the edges off. This will be different depending on what vehicle it’s being applied to as all cars have different rubber trims for their windscreen. Be careful not to cut into your rubber trims or cut yourself in this process.

Once it is all trimmed down, go along with a squeegee and press down on any corners that may have lifted to be sure it is all properly adhered.

And you are done! You can stand back and admire your work!
